Error and Illusion
So illusion, something that is " likely " to be wrongly perceived.
Error, well, I'm not going to define it but, it's a very powerful
concept which has significance through out life in various
ways.
Well, you should be able to see some relationship from between
theses two ideas.
Often, in various places I have expressed concern about
arbitrary dichotomies, which I believe represents itself
in the current political culture in the U.S. Now, of course
you can see the reality of the situation more clearly
by understanding that there are three major parties,
but one does not really exist, that is democrat, republican
and independents. Independents besides a very few
cases just don't exist as a cohesion point of view.
Independents exist only in a true sense, as " don't care " mostly.
So we have these three perspectives, I care in one way, I care
in another way, and finally I don't care. The don't care seems
like what has been growing stronger over time.
But more back to error. Today we have a very powerful sense
of polarity ---> like there is a clear difference between good
and bad and this has been pushed in a way through both
technology and to a certain extent science and science has
been pretty good about keeping track of error. But as
most should be aware, error is inherent in almost everything.
And we should recognize therefore that illusion is something
that takes effort to avoid.
And therefore, it takes a considerable amount of effort to
avoid it, and one of the most powerful techniques which
allow this process to take place is to view things, events,
situations, relationships from as wide a perceptive as
is available. This wide perspective requires a sincere
attitude of respect and considerations for all parties
to be achieved in any successful way.

Just looking forward
Of course, it is often easy during times of great challenges, to in
some respects despair because the way forward often looks
discouraging or impossible. I mean the " brighter " or better
future seems hard to visualize. So that's one curious thing,
that the future, the past, and the present are all connected, in
some way that is a bit difficult to describe or imagine.
So I wanted to simply acknowledge today as
International Women's Day, as perhaps a bighter
point in the arc of confusion for many people at
this time, I described above as " challenging ".
I have obviously expressed a lot of concern, over time
in what I've written here about some of my concerns
about issues of resolving collective action and how
it is directed. And therefore say that we can
be positive, that many of these issues of considerable
concern can be resolved in positive ways, even
though the way forward at this time may seem
difficult.

Lying
Well, I just wanted to discuss a bit, lying, as we currently know it.
This might not be the best location to discuss this issue, but
for now, I'm going with --- why not ? ---
To begin, if 1% of the global population lies, at any given time, , that would
be about 70,000,000 at any given time. It could be less maybe as little as
7,000,000 ... but let's start with the bigger number. So if we have
70,000,000 potential lies at any given time, that might mean, 7,000,000
lies on a given day, and you can see that might mean .... 20,000,000
per month for a grand total of 240,000,000 lies per year. This number
might fluctuate and so on a good year maybe only 24,000,000 lies
per year and maybe a bad year would include 2,000,000,000 lies, which
seems like a lot.
Now let's say that 50 % of those lies mean nothing, so with our average
we have reduced the number of lies that cause damage, loose money,
and all that to say an average of 100,000,000 per year and that could
add up, because at a minimum of $50 per damaging lie you now have
about $5,000,000,000 per year. But it could be potentially much worse.
But beyond cost, there is a more destructive effect which is, the confusion
and doubt and uncertainty this creates for the vast majority of the population.
But it needs to be clearly understood that lying is very simply at any given
time the absence of honesty. My simple point is that however much
social benefit there might be to eliminating lying, there is a much
greater social benefit to encouraging honesty. This is because honesty
benefits society but much more it benefits the individual who is
able to master, nurture, and develop that wonderful quality, because
it is the foundation and bedrock for greater achievement.
